Traditional Ashwagandha uses a combination of root and leaf
extracts. Ashwagandha leaf extracts should never be consumed, they are meant
for topical applications only. Traditional Ayurveda prescribes root-only for
consumption, and all the major clinical tails conducted with Ashwagandha are
with the root-only extract.
Other brands that may offer KSM-66® do not compare for one
or all of the following reasons.
1. They offer a sub-optimal dose of less than the standard
600mg.
2. They offer a mix of KSM-66® extract along with basic
Ahwagandha powder
3. Many of them add Piperine extract with the claim that it
enhances the bio-availability of KSM-66® which is not true.
4. Further, traditional KSM-66® is produced along with milk
as an ingredient, however, the KSM-66® that Unived uses is specially
manufactured without the inclusion of milk, making it Vegan.
5. Many brands add silicon dioxide as a free-flowing agent
or corn starch.
6. Many brands use gelatin capsules.
Unived’s KSM-66® Ashwagandha provides clinically proven
standardized 600mg per capsule and does not certain any other ingredients,
fillers, or free-flowing agents. What you get is a pure Vegan KSM-66® at 60mg,
and nothing else.
Our Formulation
Unived’s KSM-66® Ashwagandha provides clinically proven
standardized 600mg per capsule.
KSM-66® Ashwagandha has a wide range of actions.
A. For Athletes & Sports Recovery:
- Clinically, KSM-66® has been shown to produce a 98.9%
reduction in post-exercise buildup of serum creatine kinase levels indicating
less degree of muscle damage. - Better recovery after working out, increased
cardiorespiratory endurance, improved maximum resistance load, and muscle
recovery. - Increase VO2max (maximum volume of oxygen uptake during
physical activity). - Increase red blood cells and hemoglobin count, thereby
enhancing the aerobic capacity of the athletes. - May reduce the breakdown of ATP and lead to ATP generation.
- Increases muscle strength and muscle size.
B. Stress
- KSM-66® Ashwagandha supplementation, significantly decreased
serum cortisol (a stress hormone) level by 22.2% [4], [5]. - Acts as a GABA mimetic that reduces the over-excitation of
neurons, thereby producing calmness, reducing stress, and increasing focus,
mental well-being, and self-control [4], [5]. - Can be helpful in limiting stress-associated weight gain in
humans [4], [5].
C. Memory and Cognition
- Ashwagandha is seen to facilitate choline production in the
body, which in turn influences key memory production [4], [6].
D. Healthy Ageing
- Promote resilience to stress caused either due to
environmental or biological factors [4], [7]. - Enhances telomerase activity which may be responsible for
the anti-aging activity [4], [8].
E. Sexual Performance
- A study indicates that Ashwagandha increased sperm count by
167%, increased semen volume by 53%, and increased sperm motility by 57% by 90
days from baseline after Ashwagandha administration [9]. - Increases serum testosterone by 17% and luteinizing hormone
by 34% [9].
